About Tokyo Tower
Based on the Eiffel Tower (you could certainly do worse), Tokyo Tower is the world’s tallest example of a self-supported steel tower. It’s been considered symbolic of the country’s miraculous (and meteoric) recovery in the aftermath of World War II since its completion in the 1950s.
While it’s been surpassed by the newer Tokyo Skytree as a broadcasting hub, it’s still an important part of the industry. Today, it functions primarily as a tourist attraction, especially its observatory where visitors can peer through "lookdown windows" at the ground below.
If you want to stretch your legs a bit before ascending the tower, you can visit the Zojoji Temple below Tokyo Tower for a bit of tranquility. The Tower itself has shopping and dining options, so you could really spend a full afternoon here. And if you need to find luggage storage near Tokyo Tower, Bounce has multiple locations in the area that'll make your visit a breeze. We have locations throughout Tokyo to make our luggage storage work for just about anybody!
