How to get to or from Shinagawa Station

Located at 3 Chome-26-27 Takanawa, Minato City, Tokyo 108-0074 in the Shinagawa Ward. Shinagawa Station is served by long-distance and regional trains operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East), and Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central). There are also privately run trains operated by the private Keikyu Company. You'll want to familiarize yourself with the station before traveling as it’s fairly sprawled out compared to other Japanese train stations, with platforms near both the north gate and central gate.

• JR Central Tōkaidō Shinkansen: Shin-Osaka (2.5 hours) Kyoto (2 hours) 
• JR East: Keihin–Tōhoku Line (Tokyo Station in 14 minutes), Tōkaidō Line, JR Yamanote Line (Shinjuku Station in 25 minutes, Tokyo Station in 10 minutes, Gotanda Station in 10 minutes) Yokosuka Line (Central Tokyo in 8 minutes) 
• Keikyu Main Line: Yokohama Station (15 minutes) Shinagawa Aquarium (22 minutes)

Bus connections

Toei Bus, Tokyu Bus, Keikyu Bus, the Airport Transport Service, and other services are available at Shinagawa Station, but these routes are mainly useful for commuters rather than tourists. The train is much more convenient for getting around to various sightseeing hotspots. 

Airport connections

Haneda Airport (or Tokyo International Airport) is the most common way for international travelers to reach Tokyo and Shinagawa. You can take the Keikyu Airport Line directly to Shinagawa Station, with the trip only taking 15 minutes and the ticket only costing $5.
