Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Skopje?

We charge from €3.50 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Skopje.

  • Does Skopje have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Skopje.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Skopje?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Skopje.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

Store your luggage around Skopje with Bounce

Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, may be located on the site of an ancient settlement, but it's a city that's surprisingly more modern than what you might expect. While it may look historic, a lot of the city was rebuilt in the 20th century after being nearly completely destroyed by an earthquake in the early 1960s.

Just because Skopje is a relatively new city doesn't mean it's not an exciting place to visit, especially for those who are fascinated with arts and culture. The city is home to the country's philharmonic orchestra and the national ballet and opera. Skopje has more than a dozen museums, including one dedicated to Mother Teresa, very up-to-date shopping centers where you can purchase all the latest fashion, and a world-class food scene that's based not just on Eastern European dishes but a good selection of international ones as well.

Skopje's one downfall, apart from earthquakes, is pollution. Don't struggle for breath carrying your bags around the smoggy streets. Drop them at a Bounce luggage storage facility in Skopje. They'll be stored securely, so you won't need to do any heavy lifting or be out of breath while sightseeing.

Top Things to Do In Skopje

The three things that should be at the top of anyone's list of things to do in Skopje are visit museums, go shopping, and dine out. The only problematic decision is which museum, store, or restaurant to go to, as there's plenty of all three in the North Macedonian capital. And remember, visit a luggage storage in Skopje, and you won't have to carry around all your belongings while you sightsee. The main goal of your trip is to enjoy Skopje!

Museums In Skopje

Unless you're staying in Skopje for a month or more, there's no way you'll be able to visit all of the museums in the city.  To save you time researching on the internet which are the best museums in Skopje, the top three are detailed below.

  • Museum of the Republic of North Macedonia – When you only have time to visit one museum during your stay in Skopje, then make it the Museum of the Republic of North Macedonia. The collections of the museum cover over 10,000 square meters of exhibition space and cover history, anthropology, ethnology, archeology, and art. It's the largest museum in the country, so you'll need several hours to do a visit justice.
  • Contemporary Art Museum – The Contemporary Art Museum in Skopje is a modern building that occupies the top of a hill and is surrounded by parklands. The majority of the artworks on display are from the decades of the 60s, 70s, and 80s by national and renowned international artists. The top artists featured in the CAM are Picasso, Calder, Burri, and Kemeny, to name just four, but there are many more.
  • Mother Teresa's Memorial House – Mother Teresa is a name that's revered worldwide. Skopje was Mother Teresa's birthplace, and she remained a resident of the city until she was 18, when she left for Ireland and India. While the sainted nun never lived in the house, it is in the neighborhood where she stayed and contains artifacts and relics pertinent to her life.

Shopping In Skopje

When the city was undergoing reconstruction after the earthquake of the 1960s, the architects didn't forget about people who love to shop. They not only restored one of the oldest commercial sites of the city but built lots of flashy new ones too.

  • GTC Shopping Center – If you visited Mother Teresa's Memorial House, then you'll be within a short walking distance of the GTC mall. This shopping center is right in the city center and is part indoor and part outdoor. This 1969-constructed center is huge and covers several floors with a wide variety of stores offering everything from fashion to footwear, books, and homeware. When you want to find something in particular, you'll find it here.
  • East Gate Mall – The East Gate Mall is the most recent addition to Skopje's large collection of shopping centers. The mall opened for business in 2019 and houses well over 200 stores. It's the shopping center where you'll find the largest conglomeration of international chain brands like Zara, Bershka, Pull & Bear, and Stradivarius. You can have a straight 12-hour-long shopping spree here as it's open from ten to ten except on Sundays when it closes at 8 pm.
  • Old Bazaar – Even if you're not a shopper, you'll want to visit the Old Bazaar while you're staying in Skopje. The Old Bazaar is a labyrinth of narrow pedestrianized streets by the River Vardar where folks have been trading their wares for centuries. It's about a 20-minute walk from the Skopje bus station and is a place to wander at will, where you'll come across Ottoman architecture, mosques, and museums, as well as shops. It's definitely a part of the city that should be explored in-depth and with time on your hands.

Dining In Skopje

The cuisine you'll find in Skopje combines traditional Balkan, Mediterranean, and international, which come together to create a foodie's dream. Go for national dishes like Tavche Gravche, which is like focaccia covered with baked beans or sarma or stuffed cabbage rolls, and you won't be going hungry, that's for sure. You can always get takeout and bring it back to your hotel, especially if you're tired from all the shopping and museums. The Holiday Inn Skopje is centrally located near all the best dining if you're looking for accommodation.

  • Gostilnica Dukat - Gostilnica Dukat is a restaurant where you can discover all the flavorsome qualities of Balkan cooking. This is an eatery that the locals favor, and that can only mean two things. The food is good, and the prices are reasonable. One of the house specialties here is a Macedonian fish stew, pork knuckle in sauce, and domasna pita. If you're vegetarian, you'll find more than enough to satisfy the biggest of appetites on Gostilnica Dukat's starter menu. You'll love the helpful staff and excellent service you get every time.
  • Destan – If the Macedonian weather treats you right, you'll be able to eat al fresco on the terrace of Destan. If it doesn't, don't worry, the interior of this restaurant is a stylish place to dine on a traditional type of kebab that's served with hot bread, grilled peppers, and raw onions. It is, in fact, all this restaurant offers other than a variety of salads or the local version of baked beans. It might not sound like much, but most days, you'll struggle to get a table at both the lunch and dinner services which pretty much says it all.
  • Distrikt Bar and Kitchen – The Distrikt Bar and Kitchen is the one for diners who like state-of-the-art restaurants. They really don't get more ultra-modern than this one which positively gleams pristine under the hidden lighting. Distrikt probably has one of the best menus in the city, and it features dishes that are a fusion of Mediterranean and Macedonian, plus has a salad bar where you can choose your own salad ingredients. It's a top brunch spot in Skopje, too, and even has an omelet station where they cook to order.
