Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Hilton Head Island?

We charge from $4.10 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Hilton Head Island.

  • Does Hilton Head Island have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Hilton Head Island.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Hilton Head Island?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Hilton Head Island.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

Top Things To Do

If you’re staying on Hilton Head Island for a week, lucky you, you're going to have a great time. If you're only there for a day, that’s a shame, since there are quite a few things you're going to miss out on as you just won't have time to do them. Pick one or two from the great things to do on Hilton Head Island that are detailed below, then head to the beach for a while before having a fantastic seafood dinner. A day on Hilton Head Island couldn't be better than that.

Museums

Hilton Head Island may be a landmass that's smaller than some cities, but it's a landmass that's crammed with amazing cultural things to do. There are seven museums on the island covering topics as varied as the flora and fauna of the Lowcountry to farming in the 1800s.

  • Coastal Discovery Museum: The Coastal Discovery Museum is an enormous complex covering over two thousand square feet with indoor exhibits and sixty acres plus of outdoor ones. There you'll find the answer to why there are so many alligators on Hilton Head Island, hike through a saltmarsh, view stunning sculptures, and explore historic buildings. There are also lots of fun interactive activities for kids to help them learn while playing.
  • Heyward House: Heyward House is a historic wooden building that has survived the ravages of time since 1841. The interior of the house as well as the outbuildings has been preserved almost exactly as it would have been during the 19th century. All of the four rooms are fully furnished with period pieces and there are even photographs of the family who lived there.
  • Harbourtown Lighthouse Museum: The Harbourtown Lighthouse Museum is a fifty-year-old, red and white striped tower which as well as warning shipping of a dangerous area of coastline, has now been converted into a museum. Climb the lighthouse stairs up to the lamp room and on the way, you'll pass a different historical display on each of the ten levels.

Shopping

You'll have a fun time browsing around the stores on Hilton Head Island as they're a fusion of normal, everyday shops and shops which are aimed at visitors that stock high-quality souvenirs. It's a great mix and one which makes having a retail therapy fix absolute fun.

  • Shelter Cove Town Center: Shelter Cove Town Center is often classed as Hilton Head Island's downtown area. For the best shopping experience, wander down Town Center Drive which is by the seafront and there you'll find big-name stores like Belk, Coastal Bliss, and Player's World of Sport. Intermingled with the big names are plenty of boutiques stocking unique one-off garments, so if you're searching for something special, you may well find it there.
  • Main Street Village: Main Street Village is a unique collection of quaint buildings housing various boutiques and antique stores. Shopping here is a relaxed affair where you can wander at your leisure down the tree-lined streets, stop off for a coffee and cake, and just enjoy the general old-world atmosphere.
  • Neptune's Niche: As you might have guessed from the name, Neptune's Niche is a boutique souvenir and gift store for goods with a maritime theme as well as other items. Right on the harborside, this store carries everything from model-sized yachts, boats in bottles, fish-encrusted pottery photo frames, dolphin and whale ornaments, and mermaids in jars, which is definitely a very unusual gift.

Dining

Dining out on Hilton Head Island can only be described as a totally delightful experience you'll want to repeat over and over again. Seafood plays a major role on the menus as can only be expected when you’re in a place surrounded by water, as do American classics.

  • Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks: This restaurant is a little quirky as it's housed in an early 20th-century fish processing factory. That's not as smelly as it sounds, even though the factory is still partly used for its original purpose. Fish and seafood arrive directly to the dock and are then transferred straight into the restaurant kitchen. Getting your fish any fresher would be impossible unless you ate it on the fishing boat.
  • A Lowcountry Backyard Restaurant: If you like a live hoe-down with your dinner, A Lowcountry Backyard Restaurant is where you should dine. They serve seafood and classic American dishes in a garden setting with live music from a guitar and banjo playing duo. If you're hankering after a bowl of shrimp and grits, some oysters, or a bucket of crayfish, you'll get some here.
  • Sage Room: Go upmarket by having dinner at the Sage Room. It'll be a pretty unique experience as you can sit at the chef's table if you pre-book and watch the food being made. All the food at the Sage Room comes under the category of fine dining, even though the dishes are traditional American ones elevated to a new level. If you're someone who's not sure which wine goes with what, you can always ask the restaurant's in-house sommelier.
