Frequently
asked questions

  • How much does luggage storage cost in Canterbury?

We charge from £3.00 per day (24 hours) for luggage storage in Canterbury.

  • Does Canterbury have luggage lockers?

Yes, but they're not always the best option. Luggage lockers can fill up quickly and may be unavailable when you need them. Some luggage lockers may be too small to fit large or bulky items. Unlike luggage lockers, we don't charge per hour and instead charge a flat rate for 24 hours of storage. We also have partners who watch over your stuff to make sure it's safe, and can answer any questions you may have or give you advice on what to do in Canterbury.

  • How does Bounce luggage storage work?

We partner with local businesses around the world who have secure spaces to store luggage for travelers. Just tell us how many bags you have and when you need storage, and we'll show you convenient places you can keep your stuff safe while you explore.

Booking online is super easy and only takes a couple of minutes. To keep our partners and your stuff safe, we'll show you the address of the store once you book online. When you're ready, head to the store and show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation so they can take your bags and securely store them right away. Then you can enjoy your day without having to worry about your bags!

To pick up your bags, show the Bounce Partner your booking confirmation and they'll hand over your stuff. That's it!
  • Where is my luggage stored?

We only partner with trusted businesses who have a dedicated, secure place to keep your luggage safe. Some businesses may store luggage behind a counter that's off-limits to customers, while others may have storage rooms or closets for your luggage. But no matter where you choose to leave your luggage, our partners will keep it safe.

  • What can I store with Bounce?

Luggage, backpacks, gym bags, and more! Bounce is like having a personal storage facility for your stuff anywhere you go, so you can leave much more than just luggage with us. Whether you want to store your luggage after checking out of your Airbnb or want to drop off your work bag before hitting happy hour, we've got you covered.

We don't charge extra for oversized items, but some special items might need to be approved before you can store them. For example, surfboards, guitars, car seats, bicycles, or skis take up a lot of space, so let us know if you have them. We can check with the Bounce Partner for you to make sure they have room for your stuff.
  • Is there hourly luggage storage in Canterbury?

Yes, but many companies charge per hour and costs can add up fast. We charge one price for 24 hours of storage, so storing your stuff is more affordable in Canterbury.

  • How long can I leave my luggage with Bounce?

Whether you need storage for a couple of hours or a couple of days, we've got you covered! Just put in the dates and times you need luggage storage and we'll show you all of the available locations on our map. For long-term storage lasting more than a week, reach out to us and we'll help you find a convenient location.

If you're already storing your stuff but you need more time, you can add more time from your booking details page. Just make sure the store will be open and you can get your bags before your new pickup time.
  • How do I change or cancel my booking?

Plans change, we get it! If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, the best way to do it is from your booking details page in the Bounce app. You can edit the dates, drop-off and pick-up times, and number of bags. You can also cancel your booking or rebook at a nearby store. If you can't find your booking details, check the email address you used to make your booking. You can change your booking by following the link there, or reach out to us if you need support.

About Canterbury

Canterbury is a cathedral city in Kent, England. Canterbury is a popular holiday destination due to its lengthy history and association with classic English literature, as well as its position near major transport hubs like Dover and London. Canterbury can be easily reached via train or along the M2 motorway from London.

Canterbury has been inhabited for thousands of years but became an essential part of England in the 7th century with the arrival of St Augustine. Evidence of Canterbury's long history can be seen throughout the city, in its array of ancient buildings, ruins, and monuments. Canterbury is well-known for Canterbury Cathedral, which serves as the home of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Canterbury is also famous for its association with Geoffrey Chaucer's 14th-century classic satire, The Canterbury Tales.

Despite being a popular holiday destination, Canterbury has kept a lot of its charm and still has a small population compared to other cities in England, making it perfect for a peaceful getaway.

Attractions and activities in Canterbury

  • Canterbury Cathedral: One of the biggest attractions in Canterbury is the Canterbury Cathedral. Canterbury Cathedral has been a place of worship since the 6th century and is one of England's grandest cathedrals. Canterbury Cathedral was established by St Augustine and became an important pilgrimage site in the 12th century after the murder of Thomas Becket. The cathedral has been rebuilt several times over the centuries, including in the 11th century, when a massive fire destroyed most of the original structure.
Today, Canterbury Cathedral is a stunning Gothic-style cathedral, with many important Roman Catholic relics and monuments. Pilgrims come from across the world to see the shrine of Thomas Becket, known as Thomas Becket's Crown, and the place he was murdered, known as The Martyrdom.
Another prominent sight within the cathedral is the Tomb of the Black Prince. This tomb contains Edward of Woodstock, son of King Edward III, who was a famous commander during the Hundred Years' War. Canterbury Cathedral is also well-known for its array of breathtaking stained glass windows. One of the best is known as "Adam delving" and dates back to medieval times. The cathedral asks that you avoid bringing large bags inside, so visit a canterbury luggage storage service before you visit.
  • Beaney House of Art and Knowledge: The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge features an array of art and relics from around the world. The museum itself is a beautiful Tudor Revival-style building, dating back to the late 19th century. The Beaney House is well-known for its collection of works by local painter Thomas Sidney Cooper. Other interesting pieces of art you'll find within the Beaney House including a portrait of Geoffrey Chaucer dating back over 400 years, and paintings by famed Flemish artist Anthony Van Dyck.
Besides artwork, the Beaney House is home to some incredible artifacts and exhibits. Some of the highlights of the museum's eclectic collection include a mummified cat from ancient Egypt, weaponry from 17th-century India, and over 500 taxidermied birds.
  • St Augustine's Abbey: St Augustine's Abbey is one of the most visited historic sites in Canterbury. The original abbey dates back to the 6th century and was the burial site of many prominent Anglo Saxon figures, including King Ethelbert of Kent, and Theodore of Tarsus. Unfortunately, during the reign of Henry VIII, the monastery was dissolved, and eventually fell into disrepair and was dismantled.
Visitors are welcome to roam around the abbey's remains, see the gravesites, and learn about its history. The abbey also has a museum and shop, where you can see artifacts recovered from the abbey, and pick up souvenirs from your trip.
