The Rock 'n' Roll Running Series began in 1998 in San Diego, California, and expanded globally. The Las Vegas event joined the series in 2009.

Las Vegas is one of the few races in the series, and globally, held entirely at night, creating a spectacular atmosphere under the city's dazzling neon lights!

Beyond the marathon, the event offers a half marathon, 10K, and 5K, attracting both elite runners and beginners.

On February 23, Las Vegas brings its only race where you can stay outside all night and sleep all day! Don't miss it!

What to Expect When Attending Rock 'n' Roll Marathon 2025

The race begins after sunset, offering cooler temperatures but requiring preparation for running in the dark!

The main Marathon's distance is 26.2 miles, and it covers the entire Strip and additional areas of the city, including more time in Downtown Las Vegas. The marathon starts near the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign, and the route goes along the Las Vegas Strip, passing famous landmarks like the Bellagio Fountains, Caesars Palace, The Venetian, and the Mirage Volcano.

The course is mostly flat, which is suitable for participants of all backgrounds. This makes it ideal for setting a personal best or simply enjoying the run!

This race gives a festival vibe! Bands and DJs perform at designated points along the course, creating a concert-like experience!

For Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas, expect cool conditions, ideal for running. Temperatures during this period range from the mid-40s °F (around 7°C) during the evening hours to highs in the mid-60s °F (18°C) during the day. If you're there to cheer, bring a jacket for a cooler evening and support the runners!

Entry

Hurry up and register for one of the three races. The entry fee for the Half Marathon is $197.00, for the 10K race—$185.00, and for the 5 K—$109.00.

Security Protocols

• Security personnel will be present across all race venues to ensure safety.
• Medical teams will also be at many locations throughout the city to help those in need.
• Prohibited items include large bags or backpacks and dangerous items.

How to Get To or From the Event

Here's how to get there:

• The Las Vegas Monorail is convenient if you’re staying along the Strip. Check the website to see which station is closest to your hotel and the race area.
• RTC buses also operate along the Strip and surrounding areas.
• If you’re driving, be aware that parts of the Strip will be closed for the event. Plan your route carefully and look for designated parking areas near the starting zones.

Rock 'n' Roll Marathon 2025 Bag Policy

Only clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" and small clutch bags or wallets no larger than 4.5" x 6.5" are allowed. A gear check system is provided near the start line where participants can check their belongings using the official event-issued clear gear check bag.
