While the hard-partying Dubrovnik gets all the headlines, there are plenty of other wonderful coastal towns in Croatia worth checking out. Kastel Luksic flies under the radar, but this certainly plays to the town’s strengths. Situated just west of Split, Kastel Luksic is a fairly easy day trip destination from the Dalmatian capital and an ideal setting for a laidback getaway on the Adriatic. It’s also easy to reach, as you can fly into nearby Split Airport and take a quick taxi or bus ride to Kastel Luksic. 

With the lush Marjan Hill in the background, Kastel Luksic enjoys miles of beaches and rocky outcrops with ideal swimming and snorkeling conditions. One of the historic Kastels, which is a series of seven castles built in the 15th and 16th centuries, there’s a historic side of Kastel Luksic as well. The Old Town that clusters around the fortress of the same name makes the town an ideal sightseeing destination.
