AT&T Stadium Bag Policy 2024 - Key Details

An exterior picture of AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX

Located in the heart of Arlington, which is sandwiched between Dallas and Fort Worth, is AT&T Stadium. It's a colossal sports and entertainment venue with a seating capacity of 100,000 fans on game day! This makes it one of the biggest domed stadiums not just in the country, but the world.

Guests will be wowed by the size, but it doesn't end there. AT&T Stadium, located at 1 AT&T Way, Arlington, underwent a massive renovation project in 2009. The project transformed it into a state-of-the-art facility with all the latest amenities and features. The roof can open or close, depending on the weather, so that means guests are always comfortable.

The stadium is the home turf for the NFL Dallas Cowboys club. This is one of the most iconic teams in the league, and it's normal for fans to fill the stadium for home games. But the NFL Cowboys don't always have games, which is why it's also used for huge concert tours, college football games, professional wrestling, and more. A guest's view is always excellent in this colossal building, which helps add to the excitement.

Some of the past concerts that have taken place in AT&T Stadium include Beyoncé, Metallica, Billy Joel, Taylor Swift, Sam Hunt, Jonas Brothers, US, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, and more. And for those who love professional boxing, this is where the iconic fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul took place in November 2024.

As a tourist in Arlington, be sure to also include time for sightseeing. Some of the top attractions in the city include Six Flags Over Texas, Hurricane Harbor Arlington, The Parks Mall at Arlington, Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark, the International Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame, and more.

We get that you're probably hyped to take in a game or event at this venue, but before doing so let's take a look at the bag policy. You certainly don't want to show up with a bag that won't be permitted and ends up being confiscated. And if you do find yourself with luggage, tote bags, and backpacks, and you're scrambling to come up with a plan, we're here to help with temporary luggage storage!

Bag Policy at AT&T Stadium: What You Need to Know Before You Visit

Before you head to the stadium entrance, we want to point out the clear plastic bag policy that all guests need to follow. The clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC policy states that bags cannot be larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″. Bags allowed include a Ziploc bag, but it can't be bigger than one gallon. This clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag policy is in effect for all games and events. You can also refer to your ticket for more information regarding permitted bags.

A small clutch bag is also allowed but can't be bigger than 4.5″ x 6.5″. You can carry it on its own, or put it in a plastic bag that would act like a clear tote. This type of bag doesn't need to be clear plastic. Bags that aren't allowed include backpacks, camera bags, cinch bags, coolers, luggage, fanny packs, purses, and seat cushions.

The stadium bag policy makes an exception for medically necessary items in medical bags, but they will still require proper inspection at the gate designated.

Another important piece of information is that AT&T Stadium doesn't have storage lockers or a bag check you can use. If you show up with items that aren't approved inside the venue, they will either be confiscated and not returned, or you won't be allowed to enter. This is exactly why our temporary bag storage is essential.

Policies to Keep In Mind When Going to AT&T Stadium

We've gone ahead and gathered more information on the policies in place at AT&T Stadium. Brushing up on these will help ensure that you have a fabulous time at the venue, and don't accidentally bring any prohibited items with you.

You Won't Be Allowed to Bring Food Into AT&T Stadium

Outside food is not allowed to be brought into the stadium unless the ticket holder has special needs or medical requirements. This means you can't put any items in your plastic bags. Beverage containers which include bottles, thermoses, and cans are also prohibited.

Guests can't bring alcoholic beverages into the stadium either. Several concessions and vendors sell alcoholic drinks inside the arena. Alcohol sales are limited to two beers per transaction at concession stands and two beers per person by the roving vendors. Alcohol sales end when the third quarter finishes.

If you have questions, refer to your tickets for more information. The Dallas Cowboys club may have different rules than a concert concerning what's allowed in clear plastic bags.

Small Cameras Are Allowed in AT&T Stadium

The AT&T Stadium camera policy only allows small or compact cameras. Any lens longer than 3" won't be allowed entry, it also can't be a detachable lens. Monopods, tripods, GoPros, and selfie sticks will have to be left at home. This can be event-related, so be sure to look at your tickets. Management reserves the right to change the rules based on the event.

These Items Are Also Allowed in AT&T Stadium

Strollers are allowed at the stadium, but they need to fold up under the seats of guests. If it doesn't fit, it will have to be checked in, which is located at the guest services desk.

Signs, flags, and banners are permitted so long as they are small enough that one guest can hold them. If they are too big, be prepared for management to confiscate signs. Signs can't be attached to a stick or pole, and they cannot be offensive.

You Won't Be Allowed to Bring These Items Into AT&T Stadium

Here's a list you can quickly refer to that covers some of the items guests can't bring on game day or during concerts:

  • Drones
  • Animals, except for service animals
  • Noisemaking devices
  • Laser pointers
  • Clothing with offensive language
  • Smoking, vaporizers, and e-cigarettes (Designated smoking areas are the Miller Lite and AT&T Plaza, and outside gates A, E, F, and K)
  • Seat cushions
  • Video cameras, including GoPro devices
  • Bags that aren't clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC (a Ziploc bag)
  • Camera bags

Final Useful Tips When Going to AT&T Stadium

As you can imagine, the Dallas and Forth Worth areas are quite busy and thankfully, you've got lots of options on how to get to the arena. Because the stadium is located in Arlington, you may already be doing some sightseeing, shopping, or dining at a restaurant before the event begins. If that's the case walking or rideshares are typically the best answer.

Those who want to drive to the stadium can make use of the many parking lots available. Remember, they fill up fast because a large percentage of other guests are also driving to the stadium on game days.

Lastly, there is public transportation. The bus service is limited, but there is a free trolley service, the Arlington Entertainment District Trolley, that has stops in Arlington's downtown area including the stadium.

Those traveling from Fort Worth or Dallas may want to use the TRE commuter train that connects to stops in Arlington. You will need to make a transfer along this route though.

Be prepared that all concessions and merchandise transactions at AT&T Stadium are cashless. You can use credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payments like Google or Apple Pay.

You may be allowed to have your tickets scanned as you leave and then rescanned when you re-enter, but this seems to depend on the events being held. Be sure to ask before you leave, or refer to the instructions on your tickets since the re-entry policy can differ.
