This popular public fair in Switzerland goes by its official name: Olma Messen St.Gallen. It brings together around 650 exhibitors and attracts over 350,000 visitors each year!

Established in 1943, and now the largest event of its type in Switzerland, the OLMA trade fair offers a great range of topics on nutrition and agriculture. It offers special exhibits, demonstrations, displays, and information booths.

The event will take place from October 10 to October 20 at Olma Messen St. Gallen, Splügenstr. 12, CH-9008 St. Gallen, an hour's drive from Zurich.

What to Expect When Attending OLMA 2024

Expect to see an event described as a folk festival by many!

This event will give you a chance to try out and buy different products and services from various fields, including living, machinery, and construction.

Every year, one specific Swiss region (or canton) is invited to present its cultural heritage through folklore, customs, and culinary specialties. In 2024, the guest canton will be Zurich! This aspect of the trade fair offers visitors the opportunity to get familiar with different cultural regions of Switzerland.

The forecast predicts cool and rainy days, with temperatures ranging from 12°C to 14°C (54°F to 57°F) during the day and 5°C to 6°C (41°F to 43°F) as the night approaches. Dress warmly and make sure you bring an umbrella and waterproof shoes!

How to Get To or From the Event

You can choose different modes of transportation based on your location:

• Bus: You can take bus routes 3, 4, or 6. They will take you close to the Olma St. Gallen. You need to go to Olma Messen, Langgass, or Rosenheimstrasse stop.
• Car: If you decide to go by car, there is a parking area near the fairgrounds. However, expect a large crowd.
• Train: St. Gallen is well-connected with the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). You can take a 15-minute walk or take a bus from St. Gallen train station to the OLMA fairground. To get to the St. Gallen train station, use this app.
